No: 16–18, İç Kapı No: 15, Şişli, İstanbul, acts as data controller under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”). This notice explains how the practice collects, uses and safeguards personal data received through denizkuzgunu.com.tr.

2. The data we collect

Through the contact form: your name, email address, organisation, role, country and the content of your message. Through your visit: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed and time of visit. The site gathers general personal data only; please keep health, biometric and other special-category information out of your message.

3. Why we use it

To answer your enquiry; to assess and manage prospective collaborations, partnerships and projects; to keep the site secure and functioning, and to understand in aggregate how it is used; and to meet legal obligations, including requests from authorised public bodies.

4. How and on what basis

Data arrives electronically through the contact form and automatically through the site’s infrastructure. It is processed under Article 5(2) of KVKK: where processing relates directly to establishing or performing a contract, where it is required to meet a legal obligation, and where it serves the legitimate interests of Deniz Kuzgunu while respecting your fundamental rights and freedoms.

5. Who receives it

The principals and authorised team members of Deniz Kuzgunu; providers of hosting, email and IT services; legal and financial advisers; and public authorities where the law requires, each limited to the purposes above. The website, its analytics and the practice’s email all run on servers in Türkiye. Should a transfer abroad arise in future, it will follow Article 9 of KVKK and the safeguards it prescribes.

6. How long we keep it

For as long as the purpose requires and for any period set by law. Enquiry correspondence is kept for two years from the last exchange, then erased, destroyed or anonymised. Where an enquiry leads to an engagement, the related correspondence is kept for the ten years required by Article 82 of the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102.

7. Cookies

The site uses essential cookies only, to keep it running. Visitor statistics come from Matomo, a cookieless analytics tool hosted on the site’s own server in Türkiye; it shortens IP addresses before storing them and shares its data with no third party. You may block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

8. Your rights

Under Article 11 of KVKK you may: learn whether your data is processed and request information about it; learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used accordingly; know the third parties, in Türkiye or abroad, who receive it; ask for incomplete or inaccurate data to be corrected; ask for erasure or destruction under Article 7; ask for any correction or erasure to be notified to recipients; object to an outcome against you arising solely from automated analysis; and claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. Should your application be refused, receive an answer you consider insufficient, or remain unanswered within thirty days, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Board within the periods set by Article 14 of KVKK.

9. How to apply

Send your request in writing to the registered office stated in clause 1, or from an email address already registered with us to info@denizkuzgunu.com.tr, in line with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller. Deniz Kuzgunu responds within thirty days, free of charge, save where the response entails a separate cost, in which case the fee set by the Personal Data Protection Board applies.
